Mi Router 3G Padavan Build & Installation Guide
There’s not a lot of guides on the internet (0 as I know of) of building and installing Padavan for the Mi R3G in English, and those which do exist in russian, are slightly outdated and non-working… which is why this guide exists.
Padavan offers some advantages over stock firmware with things like VLAN Tagging support (which instantly makes it usable in countries with ISPs that use this, like Malaysia), VPN Client and Server support, traffic monitoring, system resources monitoring, and of course a built-in Download Manager and Torrent Downloader.
It’s also more stable in my experience, boots faster, and if you’re worried about privacy and stock Chinese firmware, then this should give you a bit of reprieve from that.
When typing in the commands, make sure that they are case sensitive. When typing in the terminal, the correct commands in order are:
wget -O start.sh
chmod +x start.sh
./start.sh

Can't find developer firmware online at the moment. Any trick or help?

Hello, thanks very much for the guide. Been using 2x Mi Router 3G on Padavan for 1 year+. Recently decided to reset one of the Mi Router 3G using the reset button, and I've lost all access to the router. Accessing 192.168.1.1 will simply show a "connection refused" message on the browser. No SSH access too. Any guide/link on how to solve this? Thanks.

Wow i follow all the video and was like WTF! most of the time, but seen the result is impressive. Do you think the prosses to do the same in a Mi 4A router should be simillar? (Non gigabit version). I have the Chinese version and having internet trouble so im'm moving settings arround all the time, with something like this would be a lot easier

I replaced the chines firmware by the taiwanese (English) version -> miwifi_r3p_all_b9683_2.10.46_INT.bin -> problem with this firmware: 5.0ghz does not work. With the Chinese software 5.0ghz works fine. My problem: I can't read Chinese.
